There are some albums that make me want to quit songwriting cus they are just so damn good. The build, the melodies, the twinkly guitars, the gang vocals, the arrangement, the large line-up working so well together. Umpf.
These vocals though, particularly the jumping melody on “let it end all suffering”:

Guys, guys, guys……… It’s ok. Streetlight is still fucking great.

I love his nasal voice and the soul/gospel beat is sooo good. The first verse is really impressive.

We played a show at Vassar last night and afterwards saw this guy at someone’s apartment. The atmosphere of the room reminded me of the shows that really inspired me to play folk music. Small, intimate, and transportive shows where community is created by the performer. I’d be happy playing shows like that for the rest of my life.

This song was one of the highlights of his set. 

“It Ain’t Me Babe” at our Friendly Ghost show in Burlington this past Sunday. With the gracious vocals, banter, and beer cans of The Cratch House. What a great group of people and musicians.

I had to write a song on the computer using mostly midi and loops for my songwriting class called “Highlighter for Lipstick” (my classmates picked the name). This is what I wrote. My first (almost) entirely digital song.
